Or maybe they’re TOO friendly, and want to run up to every dog they see?

Petiquette works for both!

This program is built around a simple 3-part approach to better manners:

1. Making your dog more comfortable

2. Making those around you more comfortable

3. Practicing responsible ownership

We’ll use lots of space and enrichment activities to keep your dog below threshold while they learn about polite greetings and personal space.

Training includes a thoughtful mix of desensitization and counter-conditioning, elements of BAT 2.0, Predation Substitution, and Control Unleashed games. The goal is simple: when your dog sees people, dogs, bikes, or cars… good things happen.

You’ll learn how to:

• Teach your dog alternative behaviours to reacting

• Advocate for your dog and prevent unwanted approaches

• Create and maintain distance from triggers

• Communicate clearly that your dog is in training and needs more space

• Use the environment as enrichment (hello, sniffari superpower!)

How it works:

The Petiquette package includes:

1. Prep Video
After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email along with a link to a 30-minute Petiquette video. This sets you up for success by walking you through what we’ll be working on and what you’ll need to get started.

2. Real-World Practice Sessions
Put your skills into action with four 60-minute group training sessions designed to practice in real-life scenarios. We’ll be walking both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting) in a secure, fenced area at Spoiled Rotten Dog Daycare.

Small class sizes, big results

Each dog gets the space they need to feel safe and successful. That might mean working at a distance, or even completely out of sight from other dogs. No pressure, no overwhelm, just thoughtful, structured progress.
