- Intro to Scent Detection – 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM
- Intro to K9 Nose Work – 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM
- Intro to Scent Detection (Second Session) – 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM (Added if 10:30 AM session fills)

🔍 What You'll Learn: Intro to Scent Detection
This workshop introduces your dog to true scent detection using a target odour, similar to detection sport foundations but designed specifically for pet dogs.
We'll cover:
- What scent detection is and how it works
- Pairing target odour with food to create a clear scent picture for your dog
- How odour moves through a space (airflow, height, surfaces)
- Introduction to container searches
- Handler skills, including leash handling, timing, and reading your dog
- Recognizing commitment and behaviour changes at odour
- Training the Final Response: Nose Freeze
By the end, your dog will:
- Understand how to search for a specific target odour
- Show increased confidence and problem-solving skills
- Begin developing focus and independence during searches
- Have a foundation you can practice at home
👃 What You'll Learn: Intro to K9 Nose Work
This workshop focuses on food-based nose work games, making it ideal for beginners, shy dogs, reactive dogs, puppies, seniors, or dogs new to group settings.
We'll cover:
- Why nose work is powerful for mental enrichment
- Introduction to container and box searches using food
- Building your dog's motivation to search independently
- Encouraging calm, methodical problem-solving
- Reading your dog's body language during searches
- How to recreate these games safely at home
By the end, your dog will:
- Confidently search for food in containers
- Show improved focus and engagement
- Gain confidence through independent problem-solving
- Leave mentally tired and happily satisfied

- Dogs work one at a time while others wait behind barriers, in crates, or in vehicles
- All dogs welcome (dogs who bark excessively will wait in your vehicle between searches)
